MARK (wife Beth, children Clinton, Tessa, and Steven)
Howdy. This is Mark Carter writing in April of 2008. I have been married to sweet Beth Ann since 1984. We have three children: Clinton (19), Tessa (17), Steven (11). We live near Spokane, Washington (the dry side of Washington state). The Inland Pacific Northwest is a beautiful and comfortable place to live, but we are considering moving back to Minnesota to be closer to our families, the farm, lefse, etc.

Some stuff I¹ve done since 1978 (when I graduated from Park Rapids High School): college, farming, some more college, I met Beth in Florida, tower climber, forestry-wildlife-forest firefighter work, more college, taught school in Park Rapids, some more college, then taught school in Duluth and in Spokane. For a couple years I was editor, writer, and photographer for a small publishing company in Spokane. Currently, I do web domain asset management - pretty much looking at computer screens all day long.

Beth likes to keep the larder full, and the house, yard, and vehicles clean. She has worked in various capacities at the local government school district and at a private school where Steven attended last year. As I write, Beth is in Indiana visiting her parents. She will drive with her parents to Virginia to visit her brother and sister. It's been about eight years since Beth has been out to Indiana or Virginia to visit her family. The distance from the Pacific Northwest across the Rocky Mountains and across the northern plains has precluded frequent visits the last several years, hence our eyeing a move back to the Midwest.

In the summer of 2008, Clint will be in Wyoming training to be a wilderness guide and outfitter. He is also considering various first year of college options, such as Montana Wilderness School of the Bible. He plays a good guitar and has a voice and repertoire that make campfires special.

Tessa is preparing for her first year of college. She plans to work on a pre-law program, with bachelor majors in Classics and French/Spanish Education.

Steven - now finishing up fifth grade home school - does Lego, Star Wars, Civil War, plays with the neighbor kids, and keeps our cat on its toes.

The last few years, our family hobby has been living history. I do early fur trade reenactment, Clint does the early fur trade and mountain man seras, Tessa the Renaissance, and Steven is into the Civil War era. Beth is thoroughly modern.
