Pick Your Own Strawberries
People from miles around drive to Carter’s Red Wagon Farm in Park Rapids (14766 119th Avenue) to pick our delicious, sweet, and juicy strawberries! Our guests are taken by wagon out into the strawberry fields overflowing with beautiful red, ripe berries. We even invite you to try one or two to “keep up your strength” for this fun, family adventure! If you cannot make it to the farm, we have ready-picked strawberries available — at The Red Barn (16338 County 107, Park Rapids – corner of County 107 and St Hwy 34) Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (unless sold out earlier) and at both the Park Rapids Farmers’ Market on Saturdays (9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., next to the American Legion) and the Walker Farmers’ Market on Thursdays (9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in front of the Green Scene).
U-pick hours at the farm (14766 119th Ave, Park Rapids) are 7 a.m. to noon Monday through Saturday with the fields closing by 12:30 (always closed Sundays), but PLEASE call our answering machine at 218-732-4979 or check our Facebook page before coming as there are times we may be close (or close early) due to weather, for ripening, or because we are picked out.
We do not take appointments for picking times. Fridays and Saturdays tend to be busier days, so we recommend coming on weekdays whenever possible. Mondays usually have the best picking since we are closed on Sundays. We will update our Facebook page throughout the day when current picking conditions change.
This year we will be picking by the pound and will have flats for you to pick in then take home. Please do not bring your own containers.
We do welcome children, but you MUST keep your children with you at all times; they cannot roam thru the patch or lag behind. For the safety of everyone, we recommend if someone is not picking, they should not come. We also request that if someone is not feeling well, PLEASE do not come. All play equipment will be off limits. We do not allow pets or smoking on the property.
***We are no longer taking orders for the 2023 season** We also take orders for 10# ready-picked flats of strawberries. Orders are filled on a first-come basis and are generally filled in the earlier part of the week. We cannot guarantee orders will be filled on a certain day due to weather and availability variables. Due to the amount of spam emails we receive, we aren’t always able to weed through emails to find orders that way.
